World Travel Encyclopedia | Wisconsin Public Radio
A few years ago my appetite for all things old led me to old books and the ones about world music were the most appealing. From this love affair came the hunt for travel books and not just your tourist reference books which are usually excellent (I use them all the time when I travel). Here are two that are perched behind my desk.
Yes, the covers are worn and the pages are yellowed and a bit brittle, yet I still really enjoy holding them by hand – that is, whenever I think of doing so. What a treat even though the many photos, maps and drawings are in black and white – they are still “a great addition to your collection of vintage cookbooks or your home cooking library.” Copies for sale still exist online. –Jonathan
