Want to have fun? Try roller skating at Storybook Gardens
If you’re looking for a fun outdoor activity for the whole family, Storybook Gardens is here for you.
The City of London facility is launching an ice rink this Tuesday, using the Humpty Dumpty Trail usually enjoyed by families during the winter on ice skates.
“We have the 250-meter skating rink and we have a partnership with Retrol Rollers, which generally operate from the North London Community Center, but they cannot at the moment due to COVID,” said Johnny Prior , Head of Customer Services for Storybook Gardens. , located in Springbank Park.
“We were looking for new pre-recorded programs and are happy to support them here at Storybook.”
Retro fun comes at pretty retro prices: $ 3 park entry, plus $ 5 to rent a pair of roller skates. Everyone must pre-register.
“On Sunday we have a niche that we call mini-rollerblades, for families with young children who want to get out there and just try it out, and parents can walk the trail with their kids,” Prior said.
Looking for family fun? Storybook Gardens has just presented new roller skating and inline skating program sessions at the Humpty Dumpty rink.
“We’re planning to have some fun ’70s or’ 80s themed parties, with music and lights to go along with it.”
People have been locked in and can’t wait to try something new, Prior said.
“We want to be able to give people the opportunity to go out and come back to leisure, to feel safe again, to be outdoors again,” he said.
