Jacqueline Seils – Pine and Lakes Echo Journal

Our dear mother, Jacqueline Ann Seils, received her “angel wings” on the morning of July 14, 2022 and passed away peacefully in her sleep at the very young age of 92. She will be greatly missed by all her family.

Jackie was born June 23, 1930 in St Paul, MN, growing up during the Depression. She and our father, Ray, married and lived in St. Paul until they built our family home in Inver Grove Hts. She liked to entertain and they liked to dance with friends. Summer weekends were spent at Fritz’s Resort in Pequot Lakes, MN. They enjoyed golfing, boating, and sitting around campfires with family and friends. They also liked to vacation in Florida. Jackie spent many years working for St Paul Book & Stationery in St. Paul. She had many lifelong friendships, especially Virginia Blaha, her 75-year-old best friend.

Ray died suddenly in 1982. Jackie then married Orville Seils and together they enjoyed lake life in Wisconsin and Minnesota, before moving to Pequot Lakes. Orv died in 2008. Jackie’s neighbors in her Evergreen community became her constant source of companionship. They called themselves “The Housewives of Hemlock Lane”. Jackie enjoyed reading, gardening, shopping and having lunch with the girls.

Despite many injuries in her later years, she remained in her own home until her death, Mom granted her last wish. She maintained a positive outlook on life and was an inspiration to all who knew her.

Jackie is survived by her children: Susan (Phil) McKinnis, Carole (Mike) Kahnert and Greg (Cheri) Seils; also, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and his sister, Patty Vignalo.

Our family would like to thank Jackie’s home care providers and wonderful neighbors who have helped her live independently. Their compassion and friendship meant the world to her.

A Celebration of Life will be held at the Lutheran Church of Our Savior in Pequot Lakes, MN on Saturday, July 30, with visitation at 1:00 p.m. and service at 2:00 p.m. Arrangements with Kline Funeral Home, Pequot Lakes.
