How to find annotated opening analyzes in the New Encyclopedia of Openings 2022?
There are many articles with opening suggestions in “Ideas for your repertoire”.
The menu structure has been significantly improved. Above all, the first 1,300 articles of the new edition have been given a unique designation. Each article is now specified not only by the name of the opening, but also by the opening moves which indicate the variation dealt with. A big plus for a faster search and for a better overview within the wide offer!
Under the main categories ‘Open openings’, ‘Semi-open openings’, ‘Closed openings’, ‘Semi-closed openings’ as well as ‘Side openings’, you will find all articles classified by the name of the corresponding opening. You can call any of them with a single mouse click. And you can also jump from one article to another just as easily. So you can find your favorite opening easily and quickly!
For example, suppose we are looking for a weapon against the Petroff defense (1.e4 e5 2.Nf3 Nf6) because after all it was played in the World Championship match as the primary weapon by Challenger Top Grandmaster Ian Nepomniatchi against the world champion. Magnuns Carlsen.

As an example, I’ve selected an article from GM Kapnises that offers analysis after the popular straight 3.d4 Nxe4 4.Bd3 d5 5.Nxe5 Nd7 6.Nc3:
Petroff 3.d4 opening article by GM Kapnises: The Grand Master offers analysis in a fashionable line. He annotates model games and gives ideas for your repertoire, to actively counter the Petroff with 3.d4 and 6.Nc3.

This is just one of the Grandmaster’s articles. The 2022 Opening Encyclopedia collects all articles from ChessBase magazines and gives more than 1,300 articles with “Ideas for your repertoire”.
