Free Arts for Abused Children, Dance Theater West presents Storybook Ballet 2022: Alice in Wonderland

Free Arts for Abused Children of Arizona and Dance Theater West are teaming up to bring Storybook Ballet 2022: Alice in Wonderland to the community on Saturday, October 29 from 2:30-5 p.m.

Foster children will perform with Dance Theater West. This free dance show is light, fun and perfect for the whole family, a press release said.

“Children in foster group homes study for three weeks with Dance Theater West to learn creative movement, choreography, teamwork and confidence in order to join the company on stage,” said Alicia Sutton Campbell, executive director of Free Arts, in the press release. “It’s a great opportunity for these children to work together and learn new skills. When they take the stage, you can see their faces light up.

The event will take place at the Scottsdale Center for the Performing Arts, located at 7380 E. 2nd St. in Scottsdale. The exhibition gallery will open at 2:30 p.m., the dance performance at 3 p.m. and a community art activity will take place at 4 p.m.

This program is made possible through the generous support of Scottsdale Arts, the Bob & Renee Parsons Foundation, Valley of the Sun United Way, Suzie Silverman and Dance Theater West.

The performance is free. To reserve a spot, RSVP at https://www.eventbrite.com/e/alice-in-wonderland-storybook-ballet-2022-tickets-420624608527.
