) CUYAHOGA FALLS – In our fondest memory of Brenda L. (Bates) Pennino who returned home to be with our Lord on December 26, 2021. Born May 5, 1961 in Akron, OH to Ken and Dorothy Granlee Bates, Mimi , as her grandchildren called her, was a caring person who touched the lives of everyone who knew her. Brenda lived most of her life in Cuyahoga Falls and was a graduate of Cuyahoga Falls High School, class of 1979. She worked for the Cuyahoga Falls Board of Education for 18 years, most recently at Cuyahoga Falls High School as a paraprofessional. . Brenda had many special students and took pride in caring for others. Her compassion was also demonstrated during her years of employment with Sunrise Assisted Living, where she has helped care for many special people. She was predeceased by her beloved son, Brian Patrick Pennino Jr .; and dear sister-in-law, Barb Bates. She is survived by her parents, Ken and Dorothy Bates; brother, Brett Bates; daughter, Erica (Derek) Smith of Ladson, SC; nephews, Bob, Kenny (Jessica) Bates; great-nephew, Benny; niece, Amanda (Joe) Tabeling from Erlanger, KY; and his pride and joy, his grandchildren, Sammi, Derek Jr., Gia, Luca and Cruz. She will live on in our hearts and memories forever. Gone, but never forgotten. Friends can call two hours before a noon funeral service on Thursday, December 30, 2021 at the Clifford-Shoemaker Funeral Home 1930 Front St. Cuyahoga Falls, OH 44221.
