Artists wanted for the show ‘Black & White’
River Arts in Damariscotta invites artists to submit work for the next juryed exhibition, “Black & White”. This lounge is open to members and non-members; all mediums are welcome.
The deadline for registering for the “Black & White” program is set at 4 pm on Saturday January 15; the juror will be the architect and painter Jack Silverio.
Silverio studied architecture at the Rhode Island School of Design and had his own architectural practice for 37 years. In recent years he has devoted himself full time to painting and sculpture. His current work is based on geometric studies, often employing form progressions using the Fibonacci series or the golden ratio.
For members, the entrance fee to the salon is $ 15 and for non-members, $ 30. All entrances must be gallery ready and clean. Artists can inscribe two pieces up to 48 inches (in any direction), including the frame.
All submitted works must be for sale. Registration forms are available in the gallery or online at riverartsme.org. Notification of jury selections will be emailed by Wednesday January 19. Works not accepted must be picked up promptly during gallery opening hours.
The “Black & White” show will take place from January 18th to February 19th. A reception is scheduled from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. on January 22.
The opening hours of the gallery are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday to Saturday. Be aware that River Arts will be closed from January 2-7.
