Animal Cross Encyclopedia Will Teach Kids About Creatures And Creatures Blathers Failed To

Japan is getting incredibly healthy animal crossing– thematic encyclopedia which is meant to be an educational tool for children.

Blathers has a lot to say about all kinds of mobs and critters in the world of Animal Crossing, but we don’t always want to hear it. For those who want to know a little more, there is an encyclopedia based on all the non-anthropomorphic animals of new horizon will be released later this year, although unfortunately it’s only Japan (thanks, VGC).

Apparently, the book will contain information on all 235 species that you can find and catalog, but the featured pages mostly show little information. On top of that, the book comes with a 57-minute DVD, and the pair is meant to teach kids about various aspects of ecology.

The book/DVD combo is slated for release on July 29, but there’s no sign of an English translation. Still, it’s still fun to look at pictures of animals, so hey ho, we won’t judge if you take it anyway.

It’s nice to see something new from Animal Crossing, even if it’s not some sort of update for the main game. New Horizons received its last update, and only piece of paid DLC, late last year. The free update introduced a few new villagers, much to everyone’s delight, and the DLC essentially introduced a whole new game in the form of Happy Home Paradise.

The cozy island life sim was also nominated for a Hugo Award, one of the first game selections to be nominated for the award, though it ultimately lost out to the incredibly good Hades.

There’s not much else on the horizon (sorry) for Animal Crossing, but at least Nintendo fans can look forward to other cutting-edge games like Splatoon 3.
